L1030 - Manning Wardle & Co. 'K' class 0-6-0 saddletank, H. LOVATT No. 2, No. 392 of 1872, pictured with her three crew in Leicester, circa 1897. This contractor's locomotive was built at Leeds in 1872 and its name identifies it as one of the fleet owned by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton who built this section of the London Extension. Note the engine's decorative safety valve bonnet.
