Description
L1576 - Steam powered pile driver and a navvy, working at the north end of Stanford-on-Soar viaduct, Nottinghamshire, circa 1897. The temporary wooden bridge on the left was later replaced with a permanent structure. Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton was the contractor who built this section of the Railway (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone).
