Title
Iona Abbey, Scotland
Description
The ruins of Iona Abbey on the Isle of Mull, Scotland. The abbey was founded in 563AD by Columba, becoming an important site in Scottish Christianity. The abbey was abandoned during the 16th Scottish Reformation and fell into ruin. The abbey was restored in the 20th century and is now a centre of worship again.
Iona Abbey is purported to be the site of the creation of the Book of Kells.
