Title
A Visit To Japan: Men Carrying A Palanquin
Description
Four people carrying an object on their shoulders
Part of the lucerna slide series 'Japan: Or, A Visit To The Land Of The Rising Sun' by Wrench & Son c1887. This slide shows four men carrying a kago (palanquin). These often carried priests, but the one in this photograph appears to be a sacred object in itself (note the gold tori gate).
