Description
L1015 - Manning Wardle & Co. 'K' class 0-6-0 saddletank, ST. GEORGES, No. 1003 of 1887. The picture is believed to have been taken in Hillmorton cutting, Warwickshire, circa 1897. The image shows the engine and its four crew at work on Contract No. 4 (Rugby to Woodford built by T. Oliver & Son), running bunker first hauling a rake of tipping wagons. By 1919, this locomotive was in use by Daimler, Coventry.
