Title
Avro front lacing corset with "NuBack" panel, 1935
Description
Avro front lacing corset with "NuBack" panel of 1935. The elasticated sections prevented the corset from riding up in wear, and it became a very popular design.
This Avro front lacing corset in tea rose pink features the "NuBack" panel, introduced under licence from the USA in 1932.
The "NuBack" panel, made with a semi-circular shaped hem, was fitted to the back of corsets and deep girdles. The elasticated sections prevented the corset from riding up in wear. It became a very popular design and was applied to a large number of different corset styles for over forty years.
