Title
L2326 - Brick arch subway through Leicester viaduct
Description
L2326 - This small brick arch subway allowed pedestrians to pass beneath the Leicester viaduct at Northgates. Built by Henry Lovatt & Co. as part of Contract No.2 (Leake to Aylestone), the viaduct carried the Last Main Line for much of its journey across the city. Note the handsome skew arch brickwork, and the tram lines running along the cobbles in the foreground.
