Title
L1580 - Tipping wagons at the north end of Canfield Place tunnel, London
Description
L1580 - Tipping wagons at the north end of Canfield Place tunnel, circa 1897. Running under Canfield Gardens, this was the Line's first tunnel into London. Note the tracks in the foreground: it is unusual for chairs to be fitted to contractor's temporary rails. This section of the Last Main Line (Contract No.7 London) was built by J.T. Firbank of London Bridge.
