Title
L1474 - Brick arch occupation underbridge, near , Northamptonshire
Description
L1474 - Brick arch underbridge with brick parapets and iron hand rails near Eydon, Northamptonshire, circa 1897. This is 'Foxhall Farm occupation bridge' (S. W. A. Newton's notes), one of many bridges built by the Great Central to provide farmers with access to their land that was otherwise restricted by the new Line. Note the embankment has yet to be built up. Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne was the contractor responsible for building this section of the Railway (Contract No. 5, Woodford to Brackley).
