Description
L1078 - 0-4-0 contractors' saddletank locomotive, RUBY, pictured with her two crew at work on Contract No. 4 (Rugby to Woodford built by T. Oliver & Son) in Rugby, Warwickshire, circa 1897. The loco was built by the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds (Works No. 104) in 1874. The locomotive's original owner was Mountsorrel Granite Co. of Leicestershire where it carried the name PIXEY.
