The Freedom of the City of Leicester: John Edward Faire, 1926
Description
Corporate - Civic: The Freedom of the City of Leicester. Presentation of the casket.
4 men in civic building behind long table, with ceremonial casket

Mr. John Edward Faire being presented with the Honourable Freedom of the City on October 21st, 1926.

The Mayor, Alderman George Banton, said to Mr Faire: "You are an outstanding example of the result of steady perseverance and constant application, and we have rejoiced to observe that while in pursuit of your business affairs, you have prospered, you never on any occasion permitted yourself to forget those not so happily placed. For many years your name has been associated with every practical philanthropic effort in the city and you have taken an active interest in our principal local institution - The Royal Infirmary, and for many years rendered valuable service to our Magisterial Bench, but the citizens know you best, perhaps, in your connection with your great personal efforts for, and interest in, the Provident Dispensary."
