Temple Bar in London is the ceremonial entrance to the City of London from the City of Westminster. The bar (a barrier) has existed in some form since 1293. The ornate baroque archway of Portland stone was designed by Sir Christopher Wren, and built between 1669 and 1672. The archway was dismantled in 1878 due to increase of traffic, and in 1880 moved to Theobalds Park in Hertfordshire. In 2004 it moved back to London and was erected as an entrance to the Paternoster Square, north of St Paul's Cathedral,
