Description
Adolescent girl's corset bodice of c.1895-1900 in beige/grey sateen lined with white twill. This bodice was specifically designed to ensure the wearer maintained a straight posture.
The bodice has a busk front fastening and partial lacing to the centre back. Two wide spiral steels support the cross over back and shoulder pieces, which fasten to the front busk sections with metal buckles.
The support and shaping is created with string cording in vertical and diagonal panels. It is marked inside as the "Fulma Bodice".
