L1017 - Manning Wardle & Co. contractor's locomotive, 0-4-0 saddletank with three crew, circa 1897. The picture was taken at Braunston & Willoughby, Warwickshire, part of Contract No. 4 (Rugby-Woodford built by T. Oliver & Son). Note there is no cover for any crew at work in the cab, a common feature for engines of this type.
