Title
Short laced-back corset, 1910: Detail of lace
Description
Detail of lace from a short, laced-back corset made in 1910. The design of the corset, with its cut away hips and short back, suggests that it was designed for the younger, sporting woman.

The corset is made from grey coutil and has deep lace trimming around the top edge, which has been decorated with pale blue ribbon. Attached to the bottom of the corset are four non-adjustable suspenders. These are made from frilled elastic and have a metal loop and button fastening.
