L1433 - 'Navvies dinner hour at Sulgrave', Northamptonshire, (S. W. A. Newton's notes), circa 1897. Beyond is a brick arch underbridge. The buildings on the right of the photograph are probably part of a navvy camp; hut-type accommodation erected by the contractor. This section of the Railway (Contract No. 5 Woodford to Brackley) was built by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
