Title
L3068 - Bridge 381 - Leicester
Description
L3068 - Looking north towards bridge no. 381, a brick and girder structure that carried Evelyn Drive across the London Extension south of Leicester Goods Yard. Visible beyond are three of the four brick arches of bridge no. 380. Note the steep incline that has been built to take a line of contractor's railway up and out of the cutting: this may well have gone on to form a temporary junction with the Midland Railway's Leicester to Burton line, a route which ran across the London Extension a short distance to the north and one which was probably used to carry materials destined for the Great Central's construction.
