Title
L1382 - Steam navvy
Description
L1382 - Steam navvy at rest, possibly in the Nottinghamshire area (Contract No.1, Annesley to Leake built by Logan & Hemingway). The London Extension was the first large scale Railway undertaking to employ these new machines. Note how the bucket is resting on a small wagon. Also, for contractor's temporary rails, the tracks appear to be relatively well laid and maintained.
