Title
L3074 - Bridge 385 - Aylestone
Description
L3074 - Taken around 1897, this is the view looking south east towards bridge 385, an imposing plate girder structure built by Henry Lovatt & Co. as part of Contract No.2 to bring the Last Main Line across Braunstone Lane East/ Middleton Street, Aylestone. Unlike so many relics of the London Extension the bridge is still intact today, and now carries the Great Central Way footpath and cycle route.
