L1419 - Girder overbridge carrying the Stratford & Midland Joint Railway over the London Extension at Woodford, Northamptonshire, circa 1897. Although the contractor's temporary rails on the right of the photograph have been partially dismantled, it is easy to see the difference in quality between these and the short length of permanent way in the foreground. This section of the line (Contract No. 5, Woodford to Brackley) was built by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle upon Tyne.
