Description

L3129 - Looking north along the Last Main Line cutting from the footpath which climbed the rising ground above the northern portal of Catesby tunnel. Just visible along the cutting is a temporary bridge: this was later replaced with a permanent brick arch occupation structure (bridge 488). Just to the west of where this photograph was taken from is Catesby House, the place in which Guy Fawkes, Robert Catesby and others plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament during the reign of James I.
