Title
L3125 - Shaft kerb at Catesby tunnel
Description
L3125 - Looking down from a spoil heap towards a circular timber shaft kerb. This would have been used to provide the shape of the brick lined air shafts which were sunk along the length of Catesby tunnel. At the top of the picture are a number of laden Griff mineral wagons: the Nuneaton quarry firm was clearly providing some of the materials required for the tunnel's construction.
