L3136 - This woman and child were photographed by the door of a cottage in Hellidon, Northamptonshire, during one of S. W. A. Newton's many visits to the rural communities that existed close to the route of the railway. The little girl - presumably the lady's daughter - looks slightly disgruntled, perhaps at having to stand still on a chair whilst Newton exposed the glass plate!
