Description
L1230 - Navvies pause for a moment during the construction of a girder bridge at Duns Lane, Leicester. Note the lattice parapet steel work and the tipping wagon running on the contractor's temporary rails. In the background is Braunstone Gate girder bridge. These bridges were built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton, the contractor responsible for this section of the London Extension (Contract No. 2, Leake to Aylestone).
