L3132 - An excellent photograph captured during construction of Catesby viaduct, a twelve arch structure which carried the London Extension across the infant River Leam in Northamptonshire. Running beside the brick piers which are slowly rising from the valley floor is a line of contractor's railway: a steep climb for the small locomotives tasked with hauling materials to and from the construction site.
