L3144 - This imposing structure includes the public right of way underneath the station. An existing part of the Great Western Railway's infrastructure, this later became a stop on the Great Western & Great Central Joint line. Passengers reached the platform above via a staircase leading off from the raised walkway beneath the arch. The photograph was taken from the south side of the down platform.
