Title
L1256 - Constructing the Trent Viaduct at Nottingham
Description
L1256 - 'Trent Bridge looking towards Wilford', December 1896 (S. W. A. Newton's notes). On the left of the picture are the beginnings of the three arch brick section of the viaduct, built next to the girder bridge that crossed the river. The tracks in the foreground are those for the temporary bridge. The viaduct was constructed by Logan & Hemingway, the contractor responsible for building this section of the Railway (Contract No. 1, Annesley to Leake).
