Title
L2943 - Spoil tipping at Whetstone
Description
L2943 - An interesting snapshot of navvies tipping spoil to form an embankment at Whetstone, Leicestershire. It is said that approximately 13 million cubic metres of earth was excavated during the line's construction, much of it being heaped into prodigious earthworks like this one to help the London Extension run on a fast, even gradient.
