Description
L2959 - A fine view of the temporary wooden huts which were erected at Cosby Hill, Leicestershire, to house the navvies at work on Contract No.3 of the Last Main Line (Aylestone to Rugby). This accommodation was certainly simple, but it was a considerable improvement on the squalid living conditions that navvies had endured for much of the nineteenth century.
