Title
L2958 - Brick arch bridge near Dunton Bassett
Description
L2958 - Bridge 415, an attractive brick arch occupation structure that carried the London Extension across a farm track near Dunton Bassett, Leicestershire. Built by Topham, Jones & Railton as part of Contract No.3 (Aylestone to Rugby), this was the first bridge south of Dunton Tunnel. The rough slopes of the embankment indicate that despite the bridge's completion, it would have been some time before any main line traffic passed this way.
