Title
L1307 - Construction of the Great Central Station, Leicester
Description
L1307 - Navvies at work on the site of the Great Central Station, Leicester, circa 1896. They appear to be constructing the chamber that was built to house the Blackfriars mosaic, a unique archaeological reminder of Leicester's Roman heritage. This section of the Railway (Contract No.2 Leake to Aylestone) was built by Henry Lovatt of Wolverhampton.
