L2985 - During his repeated journeys along the route of the Last Main Line, S. W. A. Newton recorded many of the rural scenes and subjects that he encountered. Indeed, his appetite for photography at this time seems limitless. With buckets in hand, these two women are pictured beside the spring at Hellidon, Northamptonshire. A dog that has presumably accompanied them is alert to the lady walking on the far side of the road.
