Title
L3006 - Building the girder bridge over the L.N.W.R. at Rugby
Description
L3006 - Nearing completion, this is bridge no. 451, the famous girder viaduct that brought the Great Central's Last Main Line over the London & North Western Railway at Rugby. For obvious reasons, the structure has become known as the Birdcage, although it was never referred to as such by the railwaymen who worked the route: they knew it simply as the 'girder bridge' at Rugby.
