Title
L1114 - Brick arch underbridge near Brackley, Northamptonshire.
Description
L1114 - A brick arch underbridge with curved wing walls located near Brackley, Northamptonshire, on the Radstone to Whitfield road. This occupation bridge was built as part of Contract No. 5 (constructed by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle-upon-Tyne). At the time of the photograph, the bridge was fully completed and, according to S. W. A. Newton's photographic notes, it was a 'farmer's accommodation bridge near Famington, 71M 5.5 C'. The picture shows a single 6-bar farm gate across the entrance to the bridge.
