Description
L1115 - A steel girder underbridge with brick-built abutments, located near Radstone in Northamptonshire. This road bridge was built as part of Contract No. 5 (constructed by Walter Scott & Co. of Newcastle-upon-Tyne). The picture, taken on 31st July 1897, shows the bridge fully complete and, according to S. W. A. Newton's photographic record, it was on the 'Radstone - Whitfield Road, 74M 35C'. The picture shows a telegraph pole at the top of the embankment but the telegraph cable has not yet been attached.
