Title
L1121 - Brick arch overbridge near Thorpe Mandeville in Northamptonshire.
Description
L1121 - A brick arch overbridge located near Thorpe Mandeville in Northamptonshire. This bridge was built as part of the Great Central Railway's Banbury branch contract and the photograph was taken circa 1900. Described by S. W. A. Newton as the 'Thorpe Mandeville to Edgcote footpath, 3M 37C'. At the time of the photograph the bridge was fully completed but the track and embankments below are still incomplete. A series of railway carriages can be seen full of earth material, presumably being used to transport the material away from the site. Points below the bridge include temporary wooden check rails. Various items of construction debris/waste are evident on the embankment.
