Theatre Royal
Description
Front of the Theatre Royal with banners and posters reading "Tracked by Wireless (or the Girl who Loved her Master)". The play was a melodrama loosely based on the Crippen case. It was first produced in October 1910, likely dating this photograph to 1911-1912.
Leicester's Theatre Royal was built in 1836, and stood between Horsefair St and the marketplace. It was demolished in 1958.
