Title
L2869 - Brick arch bridge near Newton Purcell
Description
L2869 - Built by Walter Scott & Co. as part of Contract No.6 (Brackley to Quainton Road), this is the handsome brick arch occupation underbridge that carried the London Extension across a farm track near Newton Purcell, Oxfordshire. Apart from the coping stone that is still to be placed on the foot of the right wing wall, the structure appears complete. Note the line of contractor's temporary railway that has been laid beside the embankment.
