Title
L2865 - Bridge at Birstall, probably Greengate Lane
Description
L2865 - Built by Henry Lovatt & Co. as part of Contract No.2 (Leake to Aylestone), this appears to be the brick arch overbridge that carried Greengate Lane across the London Extension at Birstall, Leicester. The photograph provides an interesting contrast between the permanent way on the left, and the contractor's temporary rails on the right - albeit if the latter have been relatively well laid and maintained.
