Title
L3292 - A twin arched overbridge on the GW & GC line in Buckinghamshire
Description
L3292 - This twin arched overbridge was an unusual feature for Great Central Railway metals. It was built on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Railway, somewhere between Grendon Underwood (on the GCR London Extension) and High Wycombe. The bridge has been built to span a deep cutting, and was built with two arches, possibly allow for the possibility of quadrupling the tracks. However, at the time of photography, the route had been laid as a double track line only. The permanent way has been laid, ballasted and tamped, and some wagons stand on the line beyond the bridge in the far distance.
