Title
L1033 - Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, WALSALL.
Description
L1033 - Hunslet Engine Co. 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, WALSALL, No. 188 of 1877. The photograph was taken in March 1897 at the back of Broadhurst Gardens, West Hampstead, London. The engine and her three crew are at work on Contract No. 7 built by J. T. Firbank of London Bridge. Note the broken rear buffer and the small chimney, probably a later modification to improve the engine's access to restricted locations.
