Description
L1042 - Manning Wardle & Co. 'L' class 0-6-0 saddletank, GERRARDS CROSS, No. 1541 of 1902, seen when working on the Northolt Junction to High Wycombe section of the Great Central & Great Western Joint Railway. This line was built by Pauling & Co. of Westminster between 1901 and 1905, and the locomotive has 'P & Co. Ld No. 39' painted on the saddle tank. The two crew lean out of the large cab, while a tipping wagon is coupled behind. Note the two sets of buffers.
