Title
L1049 - Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive on a bridge near Saunderton.
Description
L1049 - A Kitson of Leeds built 0-6-0 contractor's saddletank locomotive and driver rest on a newly built girder bridge. The photograph was taken on a single track section of the railway at Saunderton, Buckinghamshire circa 1903. Mackay & Davies were the contractors responsible for building this stretch of the line (High Wycombe to Princes Risborough). Note the enclosed cab, a feature that was considerably more unusual in the line's earlier period of construction.
