Title
L2777 - Bridge construction at the site of Hucknall Central Station
Description
L2777 - Taken from a line of contractor's temporary railway in October 1896, this photograph is thought to show the construction of Hucknall Central Station, Nottingham. When completed, passengers would use this double span brick and girder bridge to reach the single island platform that extended from the far side of the central brick pier. Just visible beyond is a temporary bridge. Note the barrels that are being used to support the scaffolding poles.
