Title
L2778 - Coal stage near Annesley junction
Description
L2778 - This photograph was taken in April 1897 at a coal stage close to Annesley junction. Although it would be another two years before the first passenger service left Marylebone, the permanent way has already been laid and a semaphore signal has been installed on the far side of this shallow cutting. On the right of the picture, a section of undulating temporary railway runs parallel with the main line.
