Description
L1070 - Hunslet Engine Co. 0-6-0 saddletank, CEFN, No. 256 of 1881 seen near Denham, Buckinghamshire on the Great Western and Great Central's joint railway. This section ran between Northolt Junction and High Wycombe and was constructed between 1901 and 1905 by Pauling & Co. of Westminster. The photograph was taken on an embankment and the Buckinghamshire countryside can be seen in the background. Coupled to the locomotive is a long rake of tipping wagons, while the crew lean out of the cab.
