Title
L2798 - Tunnel construction at Harrow, Middlesex
Description
L2798 - Thought to have been taken at Harrow during construction of the Neasden to Northolt line, this is a rare snapshot of navvies tarring the roof of a cut and cover tunnel. Built between 1901-1905 by T. Oliver & Son, the Neasden line connected the Great Western & Great Central Joint route with the Metropolitan & Great Central line: the latter being the initial path into the capital chosen for the London Extension.
