L2803 - Photographed looking north around 1897, two lines of contractor's temporary railway snake along an embankment near Quorn, Leicestershire. In the foreground, large piles of hardcore lie at the base of the cutting walls. This section of the line (Contract No.2, Leake to Aylestone) was built by Henry Lovatt & Co. of Wolverhampton.
