Title
L1084 - Contractors' 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, ST. ANDREWS.
Description
L1084 - Manning Wardle & Co. 'K' class 0-6-0 contractors' saddletank, ST. ANDREWS, No. 1012 of 1887. The locomotive and its crew are pictured at Lutterworth in Leicestershire, circa 1897. Topham, Jones & Railton was the contractor responsible for constructing this section of the railway (Contract No. 3 Aylestone to Rugby). The original owner of ST. ANDREWS was T. A. Walker of Glamorgan. The contractor's plate on the locomotive's cab indicates that Topham, Jones & Railton purchased it in 1894.
