Description
L1085 - 0-6-0 contractors' saddletank locomotive, NORMAN, with her two crew at work on the Great Western and Great Central Railways' joint line near Haddenham in Buckinghamshire, circa 1903. Louis P. The locomotive was built by the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds in 1888 (Works No. 454). First called RUSHOLME, the locomotive was initially owned by T. A. Walker, a contractor that had worked on the Manchester Ship Canal construction. By August 1898, it had been bought by H. M. Nowell, and around 1900 its name was changed to NORMAN. Louis P. Nott held the locomotive from 1903 to 1918.
